Award Brands secures key Dandenong South industrial facility

Award Brands is a major new tenant at DEXUS Industrial Estate in Dandenong South.

Award Brands will relocate its two existing eastern suburbs facilities to Pound Road West, Dandenong South after committing to a 10,611sqm lease agreement with owner, DEXUS Property Group (DEXUS).

CBRE’s David Aiello and Stephen Adgemis negotiated the long term lease for Building B, 47-69 Pound Road West, which was previously occupied by QLS Logistics, on behalf of DEXUS. There is one tenancy remaining at the estate – a highly versatile 10,000sqm warehouse building.

Mr Aiello said Award Brands intended to consolidate its existing facilities at Knoxfield and Rowville to accommodate its continued business expansion and recent acquisition of the Novelli company.

“The building’s location in Melbourne’s largest industrial hub had been particularly attractive for Award Brands, given its direct access to the South Gippsland Highway, Western Port Highway and close proximity to Eastlink, providing efficient distribution to Melbourne’s most heavily concentrated retail and residential catchments.”

The facility features a significant drive-through ‘super canopy’ ideal for all weather loading, multiple recessed loading docks and new office/showroom accommodation. There is drive around access and an additional concrete hardstand area at the rear of the property.

The Award Brands commitment is the latest at the estate, with DEXUS having last year leased the 24,235sqm former L’Oreal distribution facility to bathroom and plumbing products supplier Reece Plumbing.

DEXUS Executive General Manger, Office & Industrial, Kevin George said “We are pleased to welcome Award Brands to our portfolio. This latest commitment demonstrates the attractiveness of the core south-east industrial market as a preferred location for high volume, transport and logistics operators who are seeking superior infrastructure, quality amenity and competitive rentals.”

Award Brands offers a comprehensive range of bathroom, storage, ezi-living and general household products, and is a leading supplier to hardware and plumbing retailers including Bunnings & Reece, as well as stores such as KMart & BigW.

The company has appointed CBRE to dispose of its warehouse and manufacturing facilities at Knoxfield and Rowville since committing to the Pound Road West facility.

“The opportunity to consolidate within a highly accessible estate in close proximity to key infrastructure was particularly appealing for Award Brands” Mr Aiello said.
