Appoints industry expert James Armstrong to lead new service-oriented approach
Colliers International has launched Workplace Management Services (WMS), a unique, new offering for corporate occupiers who require high performance workplaces to increase productivity. WMS transforms the workplace into a corporate hotel, challenging the traditional facilities management model, and bringing a new service approach.
“We identified a need within our clients for a service that provided a corporate hub and a sense of community within the workplace,” said Colliers International’s Head of Corporate Solutions, Doug Henry. “The traditional facilities management model no longer works for many corporates, who feel they need to provide their people with an exceptional workplace to increase productivity and attract and retain the best talent. The WMS model transforms their workplace into a corporate hotel, freeing their people up to focus on what they do best, while all the workplace needs are catered for by our WMS team.”
WMS encompasses Front-of-house Management, Workplace Management and Workplace Advisory. In order to deliver this new service, James Armstrong has joined Colliers International in the new role of National Director of Workplace Management Services. James has an extensive background in hospitality and workplace, and was a pioneer in the Australian market in providing a more service-oriented approach to the workplace and commercial office assets.
“We’re thrilled to have James join our team,” said Mr Henry. “James is driving significant change in this space, recruiting people with a hospitality background and changing the way we think and talk about managing the workplace.”
“I’m pleased to be building a new concept within a progressive property group with a unique offering to clients,” said Mr Armstrong. “Based on hotel methodologies and culture, the team are committed to providing exceptional service to both our client’s guests and their valued employees. We are blurring the lines of the traditional FM approach to managing front of house and workplace components within the commercial office sector. Our services range from lobby concierge; unique space management including business lounges; meeting room management; workplace concierge; internal communications; and end of trip facilities as well as the oversight of other areas such as housekeeping services and agile work principles. It’s all about being responsive and anticipating the needs of the users within the workspace, ensuring that issues are swiftly rectified – before they know they have them”.
