Global collaborative workspace company WeWork announces its first Perth location

WeWork will open its first Perth office in the CBD’s tallest and most iconic tower, Central Park, in September 2019, providing workspace for more than 1,600 people.

Central Park General Manager Tim Ward said there was a natural alignment of values between the office building and its newest customer.

“We are thrilled to welcome WeWork not just to Perth, but to a premium building located in the heart of Perth,” Mr Ward said.

“With the lines between work and play becoming increasingly blurred, Central Park’s lush park space, facilities and social activities enhance customers’ and visitors’ well-being and experience in an environment that caters to their working, leisure and social needs.

“This aligns with WeWork’s mission to create a world where people work to make a life, not just a living.” WeWork Australia General Manager Balder Tol said WeWork was a global company with a local playbook.

“By expanding our network to Perth, we are creating a place that supports local businesses of all scales to grow,” Mr Tol said.

“More and more bigger businesses are understanding the impact workspace can have on culture and employee performance.

“WeWork will offer unrivalled flexibility and diversity to Perth’s unique community of start-ups through to large, global enterprises.

“We are looking forward to connecting some of Western Australia’s brightest entrepreneurs and business leaders to our network of more than 400,000 members globally.”

Occupying 7,900 square metres of Central Park, the global collaborative space provider will transform seven of the tower’s 51 floors into a mix of private offices and shared workspaces with a strong sense of community.

WeWork members will have access to Central Park’s contemporary fitness and end-of-trip facilities, as well as on- site barista and dedicated community team.

WeWork joins a number of established customers at Central Park including Rio Tinto, Grant Thornton, AEMO and DLA Piper

WeWork currently has twelve open locations and more than 9,000 members across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
